My goal with Pivotal Equine Nutrition is to help horse owners understand what they're feeding and why. The horse industry can be overwhelming, particularly when it comes to supplements and marketing claims, making it easy to feel confused or even exploited. I provide clear, honest guidance so you can make decisions based on science rather than sales tactics.
I develop customized nutrition plans that are realistic, easy to follow, and rooted in research. Through Pivotal Equine Nutrition, I help horses feel and perform their best while instilling confidence in owners regarding their horse’s care.
I'm Dr. Peyton Teague, an equine nutrition consultant dedicated to empowering horse owners to make informed decisions about their horse's diet. My research focused on conditions such as insulin dysregulation (Equine Metabolic Syndrome), neurodegenerative disease (Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction), and gastric disease (Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome), which enables me to translate complex scientific concepts into practical feeding strategies.
About Dr. Teague
I am a lifelong equestrian and lover of horses. Growing up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, I participated in my county's 4-H program and also showed my personal horses. During my time at Clemson University, I was heavily involved with the CU Equine Center and the Equestrian Team, while also spending time as an equine veterinary technician. While getting my doctorate, I was able to spend time in Ocala schooling XC for fun and trail riding.
After obtaining my doctorate near the horse capital of the world, I relocated to Oklahoma, where I now live with my husband, daughter, three horses, four goats, three dogs, and countless chickens!
