Meet Dr. Peyton Teague

Behind Pivotal Equine Nutrition

My goal with Pivotal Equine Nutrition is helping people understand what they are feeding and why. There is a lot of noise in the horse industry, especially when it comes to supplements and marketing claims, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or even taken advantage of. I want to give you clear, honest guidance so you can make decisions based on science, not sales tactics.

I build plans that are realistic, easy to follow, and grounded in research. Through Pivotal Equine Nutrition, I aim to help horses feel and perform their best while giving owners confidence in their horse’s care.

I'm Dr. Peyton Teague, an equine nutrition consultant focused on helping horse owners make confident, informed decisions about their horse’s diet. My research has centered on horses with insulin dysregulation (Equine Metabolic Syndrome), neurodegenerative disease (Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction), and gastric disease (Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome), which allows me to take complex science and turn it into practical, real world feeding strategies.

About Dr. Teague

I am a lifelong equestrian and lover of horses. I grew up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, where I was involved in my county's 4-H and showed my personal horses. During my time at Clemson University, I was very involved in the CU Equine Center, the Equestrian Team, and spent time as an equine veterinary technician.

After getting my doctorate near the horse capital of the world, I moved to Oklahoma, where I now live with my husband, daughter, two horses, six goats, and three dogs!
